Social Impact and Sustainability

We want you to look and feel good in Gingerlilly, and we understand that part of feeling good about a purchase also comes from knowing you have made a responsible choice. We care about what we produce, and about how we produce it, which is why only work with suppliers who are committed to transparency. We set high standards for ourselves and our partners, regularly reviewing and auditing our supply chain to ensure we are all championing a responsible path to production.

The factories we work have multi-tasking craftsman who can knit, weave, cut, manufacture, stitch, wash, and pack. They operate under the highest international certification for labour and sourcing standards, which means we know their workers’ rights are protected and we’ve seen it in action on the factory floor, since we began visiting in 2006.

Since then, we’ve formed great friendships with our overseas partners, who are also certified internationally for their recycled and organic standards via the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), which is close to our heart – when fabrics are fundamental to what we produce.

We have always sought to work with natural, renewable fibers. We love creating with cotton, modal, viscose, and bamboo – beautiful, breathable materials that feel amazing to wear.

We’ve started our journey toward reducing our environmental load, and we’re committed to making real change. Our aim is to be as sustainable as we can, not only through our own manufacturing process but as a part of the broader fashion industry – committed to reducing overall GHG emissions
